We all know how important skincare is, especially in the evenings. Our skin gets exposed to so many harmful elements during the day.. which makes it extremely important to give our skin a good chance to recover at night. Sleeping with make-up on or not removing it properly can cause so much more damage to our skin than we think about. By having a good evening skincare routine, we can prevent doing more harm to our skin than necessary and with doing that we can even prevent our skin from ageing faster.
Even though I am a huge supporter of good skincare routines, I’m not always good at doing a full-on skincare routine every single night. Especially at late nights, when the only thing I can think of is getting into my bed, my evening skincare routine often gets forgotten. Since I’m not that kind of gal that always likes to take time for something like a skincare routine anymore, I’ve tried to come up with a routine that’s as quick as possible and doesn’t need tooo much products.
At first I like to start my evening skincare routine with removing my make-up with the Gelatee Confort Cleanser from Lancome. Mixed with honey and almond extract, this cleansing milk removes make-up perfectly. It doesn’t dry my skin out and leaves my skin clean and soft. But to be 100% sure that all the make-up is gone, I always use the Sensibio H2O Make-up Removing Micelle solution from Bioderma afterwards. This miccelar water removes even the hardest eye-makeup in a couple of swipes. It’s by far my all-time favourite miccelar water! After having my face all clean I like to scrub my face with the Purete Thermale Skin Renewing Creamy Scrub from Vichy. This scrub gently eliminates dead cells and impurities on the skin, doesn’t dry my skin out and leaves it extra soft. I just wash the scrub off with some water and a muslin cloth or a clean towel.
To get some more moisture back into my skin I always apply some cream, especially at nights when I’ve used a scrub. The one I’ve been using every night and day is the Lait-Creme Concentre from Embryolisse. I absolutely love the light, floral scent of this cream! Using a small amount is enough to hydrate the entire face. At the nights when I feel like adding some extra moisture, I combine the cream from Embryolisse with a couple of drops of the Vitamin-E Overnight Serum-in-oil from the Body Shop. Finally, I apply the Liftactiv Eye Cream from Vichy and of course some lip balm.
And that’s it! The simple version of my evening skincare routine! Of course I like to mix things a little bit up once in a while by for example using a face mask, a heavier scrub or a special eye make-up remover. But when it comes to the basics and my all-time favourites, this is definitely all! It usually takes me around 5 minutes to do the whole routine, which makes it just short enough to (try to) do every night.
What are the products you use on a daily basis at night? Recommendations are always welcome!
Have a good week loves.
