I can’t believe it’s my birthday month again. I feel I went from kindergarten to now in one blink – wtf. Anywho, since I’m a huge fan of lists and you guys know that, I thought I’d make a list of 23 things I’ve learned in the 23 years I’ve spend on this earth, here we go:
Always spread kindness around like confetti, because you have no freaking idea of what others are going through. Everyone has their own battles, so don’t ever jump to conclusions.
Live your life exactly how you want to live it and know that you are responsible to do that.
Treat yo’self, but don’t say YOLO.
Friendships and family are everything, invest in them. There is nothing that’s more important.
In a world of social media, appreciate real interactions more. Don’t be on your phone too much: Facebook and Instagram are (kinda) pointless.
Things will go wrong sometimes, you will not always feel the best and, that’s totally fine & normal.
Always chase your stars: work for your goals and go for it, whatever it is.
Never give up, chances are your best kiss, hardest laugh and greatest day are yet to come.
Material things are not important at all. Go for the experiences, memories & quality time.
Don’t believe everything you read and see on the internet – it’s all a lie.
Nothing is forever (the good and the bad), so enjoy every single moment.
People enter, and leave, your life for a myriad reasons. Let it these connections be what they are.
Don’t worry about a thing, shit happens all the time and things are going to be ok eventually. Some things just aren’t worth getting upset over.
Just be and never apologise for that. Nobody is perfect.
Mental health is one of the most important things to take care of: scream-singing alone in the car, a cry, Ben & Jerries, spending time with friends and warm baths can fix a ton of things.
Focus on the now and don’t stress about the future.
Happiness is in your hands. You have to work for what you want.
It’s ok to be a grandma and to be in bed at 8 pm instead of going out – love those nights.
Always be your friends’ biggest cheerleader.
No one is better than another and we are all in this life together: never compare.
Always give people enough comfort to be themselves. Magic will occur.
You don’t have control over anyone else, so never try to.
