When it comes to make-up, the eyebrows are thé most important, to me at least. I love to use the Brow Wiz from Anastasia, but I always seem to finish those pencils up within 3 months or even less. So when I finished up my beloved Brow Wiz this month once again, I thought I’d give something else a try: The Benefit Cosmetics Brow Zings Shaping Kit!
The shaping kit from Benefit comes in 3 colours: light (light blonde to light brown hair), medium (medium brown and red hair and dark (dark brown to black hair). After trying out all the colours in store, the dark one seemed to suit my skin and hair colour best.
The shaping kit from Benefit comes in a gorgeous slim & black package. Really! This thing feels so small! Which makes it so easy to take with you anywhere! After opening the kit you can find a handy mirror, the wax and the powder. To make this thing even more perfect for on the way, it also includes a little tweezer, a hard angle brush and a blending brush. To be honest, I don’t use any of them tools, but they can come in hand when you just need a little touch up when on the road!
On the back of the package you can see all the ingredients, make sure to check if you have any allergies! The shaping kit contains 1.7 gram of wax and 2.65 gram of powder ($32). The lady in the shop told me this kit could easily last for around a year (yeah right), which I’m not totally sure of.. But I’m sure it will last a lot longer time than the twist-up pencils do!
And this is how it looks on the brows! It’s absolutely not perfect (I do need some practicing), but I like the way it looks! It still takes me a little more time to apply then my beloved twist up pencils, but I’m sure that will get better after getting more used to it.
I love the powder and the wax, although I do feel like the powder gives more of a natural look than the wax. So I try to keep the amount of wax I use as low as possible. Both the powder and the wax are very easy to apply and have a good pigmentation. The only downside is that its fairly easy to accidentally wipe of the product. Combining the powder and the wax does make the product last longer, but during the day I do seem to get some little empty spaces. But, using a good brow gel will probably solve this!
Overall I do love to use this product! It’s the perfect little thing to take with you when travelling and applies easy! If you want a more natural look or want your brows to stand out a little bit more, this is the one for you! You can do loads of things with this brow shaping kit! It does take me a little bit more time to apply, but I think those 2 more minutes are worth it for sure! The best thing of all is that it will probably last me a lot longer than the normal brow products I use. So it’s definitely worth the investment!
Have you ever tried the Benefit’s Brow Zings? What do you think of using wax and powder in general?
