Going to coffee bars is one of those things I love to do – preferably every day. Whether it is to catch up with friends, quick meetings, just to chill, to brainstorm or even to work on uni – you’ll find me in a coffee bar multiple times a week (my wallet doesn’t really like that). Now I’m very lucky, because Amsterdam has loads of amazing coffee bars. Which, to be honest, was a bit overwhelming when I first moved here – I’m the worst at choosing. But after studying and living in Amsterdam for a while now, I’ve found some of my all-time favourite places to grab a coffee. Today I’m sharing (some of) my favourites:
Lot Sixty One Coffee Roasters
Lot Sixty One can be found at multiple places in Amsterdam, such as in Urban Outfitters. However, I absolutely love their original location, which is located on a corner on Bilderdijkkade/Kinkerstraat, nearby the Foodhallen. It’s a super tiny place, but definitely one of the best in West. The Flat White they serve is by far my favourite!

Scandinavian Embassy
I randomly discovered this place about a year ago on a sunny day and instantly fell in love. I’ve always adored everything Scandinavian and this place is all about that. It combines coffee, with food and fashion – perfect combo. The vibe of the place is just perfect! It’s definitely a hidden gem.

Coffee Room
Now this is a place that has a special place in my heart – and it’s not because of the coffee. It’s because something else, which is quite pathetic: I spend hours writing my thesis here last summer and grew to love this place. To be honest, the coffee isn’t the best I’ve ever had. But, it’s the perfect place to chill and catch up with friends, especially during summer!

CT Coffee and Coconuts
Located in the heart of Amsterdam, de Pijp, this is another amazing place to grab a coffee, lunch, dinner ánd of course, coconuts! It’s the perfect place to hang out with friends, have meetings and to work! Good vibes guaranteed!

Coffee Company
Now this is a basic one, but I just love Coffee Company and genuinely spend hours in their cafes. You’ll always find people working here and that, for me, makes it the perfect place to study! You can find Coffee Company all over Amsterdam. I love the ones at Oosterdokkade, Kinkerstraat and the one nearby my university at Plantage Muidergracht the most, because they are closest to the places I have to be at most often! Definitely try their cheesecake :)
White Label Coffee
Another perfect place for your coffee cravings! It’s located in De Baarsjes, which is basically around the corner of my home – so bad, but so good. The place is super relaxed, the coffee is the best and, you can also grab some baked goods if you fancy some!
White Label Coffee
Jan Evertsenstraat 136, Amsterdam
Bocca Coffee
If you love coffee and are from the Netherlands you probably already know Bocca Coffee, it’s born in the Netherlands! Just off Leidseplein you can find Bocca’s flagship store, training centre and cafe! It’s a place I probably come a little bit too often. I adore their short whites and brownies! – and the interior is on fleek!
Bocca Coffee
Kerkstraat 96, Amsterdam
… and those are some of my favourite places to grab a coffee and hang out in Amsterdam! Every place has it’s own special little thing, so definitely check them out if you’re in the area! Do keep in mind that Amsterdam has MANY MORE amazing coffee places and the ones I mentioned are definitely not all of them. I couldn’t discuss every single one, because that would make this post literally endless :)
What’s your favourite place to go for a coffee?!
