Last year I got the chance to go to Klein Curaçao (dutch for “Little Curaçao”). Now I hear you thinking, Klein Curaçao what? It is a little inhabited island 2 hours sailing away from the main island Curaçao. Even though I’ve been here many times to visit family, I’ve never really had the chance or even thought about sailing to Klein Curaçao. So I was véry excited when my aunt told me she wanted to go! A couple of days later, we hopped on a little yacht (very early in the morning), and sailed to the island! I thought I’d share some pictures we took on this day.
Since we had to swim to the island from the boat and I didn’t have a waterproof camera, I couldn’t take any pictures of the island itself. But as you can see, the blue waters were amazing and the sand was super soft! We didn’t spend much time exploring the – very small – island, because the beach on it own was amazing. We saw a ton of different fishes and I got to swim with sea turtles for the first time (Tip: for some reason, they loved KFC chicken, so bring yourself a big ol bucket!)
After a full day, we went back to the main island Curaçao:
If you’re planning to go to Curaçao or are there right now, I would highly recommend taking day-trip to Klein Curaçao! You’ll get to see gorgeous views, clear blue waters and lots of fishes and turtles! We went with a rented yacht, but there are many pre-organised boat trips you can take! Also… after spending the day on the island my tan got fifty shades darker than it was – oh yeah!
